Livestock Shipping

All orders are shipped via UPS Next Day Air®. The day your order ships, you will receive an e-mail containing your UPS tracking number. Someone must be available at the time of delivery to prevent livestock from being exposed to the rain and/or extreme temperatures.

We can hold orders for a maximum of 2 weeks upon request.
We reserve the right to hold an order to avoid shipping in bad weather.
We do not ship to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, or outside the continental US at this time.

Return & Exchange Policy

Livestock/DOA (Dead on arrival)

We do our best to ensure your corals and fish arrive alive and in good condition. However, mother nature and shipping delays are sometimes unavoidable. All livestock shipments need to be unpacked and inspected upon arrival. We can only rectify issues if reported within 1 hour of the package tracking showing it has been delivered. The following procedure must be followed to the letter while submitting a DOA claim.

1. Take a picture of the box BEFORE opening it. Make sure photo is taken in adequate lighting, ensure the photo is not blurry, and that the entire box is within the photo.

2. Open the box and inspect each bag before opening.

          - The water in the bag should be between approximately 65 - 80 degrees F.

          - If water in bag is brown, the coral is likely deceased.

          - It is normal for coral to be recessed, but tissue should not be pealing from the skeletal structure (if applicable)

          - We place a small carbon pellet in the bag to help absorb harmful toxins during transport.

          - If you suspect that any coral is deceased, you MUST take a picture at this step before opening.

2. One of the two acclimation methods must be followed to the letter to make a DOA claim. For instructions please click here.

3. Once acclimation is complete, you should place the coral in the aquarium. Once the 1 hour has passed and the coral have been transferred to your aquarium, they are no longer considered for a DOA claim.

4. DOAs will be issued store credit to use for futures purchases. Shipping costs will not be covered for a replacement and are non-refundable.

Dry Goods/Products

1. Our policy lasts 30 days for dry good products. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

2. We accept returns of new products in their original packaging within 30 days of original purchase for a full refund. Please call or send us an email to start the process.

3. If you purchased a product in the last 30 days that's opened but unused, has never seen saltwater and still has all of its original packaging (warranty cards, manuals, accessories, etc.) we can accept your return and offer a 50% store credit. Bigwave Corals has the right to reject opened items for any reason, but will always try to work with you to make things right.

4. Additional non-returnable items: 
        - Gift cards
        - All used items are non-returnable
        - All sale and clearance items are non-returnable
5. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. 
6. Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer. 

 

Manufacturer Defects and Warranties

If your product arrives non-functional due to manufacturer defects, it may be exchanged for the same product within 30 days at no cost to you!

If you purchased your product more than 30 days ago and need warranty support just call or email us and we will do our best to get you connected with the manufacturer to get your issue resolved.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. 

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. 

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
